Maxfun 10 MAX Hyper Electric Scooter

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

Allow me to start by saying that I’m experienced rider. I had Varla Eagle 1, the original version in 2020. So I know my e-scooters and what to expect. Also, I had this scooter since August, got about 300 miles total, so I feel comfortable sharing my in-depth review after several months of regular usage.
I’ve spent plenty of time doing my research, the technology certainly has evolved a lot since 2020s. I wanted something faster than 40mph, but nothing crazy like 80mph, this is a scooter not motorbike. So I was looking around, checking specs, watching YT reviews and after careful consideration I picked Maxfun 10 Max and I’m very happy I made this choice.
I’ve been riding the Maxfun 10 Max for a couple of months now, and it’s honestly exceeded my expectations. The build quality is the first thing that stands out — nothing feels cheap, loose, or “DIY.” The frame is solid, the welds are clean, and the whole scooter gives off a premium, engineered‑with‑intent vibe. But most of all, I really love battery bay – it is super clean, no spaghetti wiring cluster. Everything is secured out of the box, no need to ziptie anything and all wires have this protective coil sleeves. Since we talking about box, it was well designed to protect the scooter during shipping, nothing much else to add here, but certainly worth mentioning.
Let me elaborate why exactly I picked 10 Max. It is the only scooter that went all in on quality parts that matter. I’m kind of guy who bought Subaru STI in 2011 because I don’t want to mess with aftermarket headaches. If I can get premium from the factory, I do that. So Maxfun are the only company that offers premium parts where it matters – suspension, brakes, tires and battery. No compromises there. The value is incredible in my opinion. Let me get into the details:
1) The suspension is one of the best parts. It’s not the usual stiff budget setup; it actually works. Adjustable, predictable, and stable even at higher speeds. The knob has 8 positions, making it easy to fine tune the rebound exactly the way you like, stiffer or springier.
2) PMT tires, the ride feels planted and confident, especially on Florida pavement. I don’t push my luck, but no issues even on after rain wet pavement. It accelerates to 50mph VERY fast.
3) The Magura hydraulic brakes certainly deserve all the hype. They’re not just “better than average” — they’re in a completely different league. Smooth modulation, strong bite, zero fade. It’s the kind of braking you usually only see on high‑end downhill bikes, not scooters. In fact, it is so strong, you have to kinda get used to it so you don’t fly over handlebar during hard break. Proper posture is a MUST.
4) The removable battery is a huge quality‑of‑life feature. I live in condominium complex, 3rd floor, no elevator. I used to carry my Varla up and down EVERY time. Being able to park it outside, put a cover on, while taking just battery inside is such quality of life, if you live in low rise apartments with no elevator, you know exactly what I mean.
5) it comes with steering dampener and it’s incredible. I never EVER experienced any sort of death wobbles. I tried riding without it once and its too sketchy, I cannot go past 20mph without feeling like I’m gonna lose control. It’s not hard to install, but you might need to reach out customer support if you never installed one – that’s what I did
Let me tell you about performance: it accelerates super-fast – when lights hit green, I cross intersection when opposite traffic just starts moving. Very few vehicles can beat me in drag. I LOVE being so nimble on the road, I can take normal road, or bike lane or sidewalk, depending on situation. That freedom of traversal is so addictive. I don’t do offroad tho, 10in wheels seem too small for that, and I don’t want to mess with offroad tire changing. It gets to 50mph very fast, I can push it to 55-58mph, depending on road conditions. But my most comfortable range is 40-50mph, it doesn’t feel like I’m pushing it to absolute limits and abusing it.
About battery longevity: I’m gonna keep it real, riding at 40+ I get about 20 miles range in total. I never completely drained battery, so I don’t know how much is left, it shows in bars, not % on display. And those charge status bars change on the fly depending on your current speed. This is the only thing that is mediocre – HUD display. It does its job, but I hate battery indicator for being too vague. I don’t like RFID key neither, I think it is pointless. But that’s ok, at that price they had to save money somewhere and I’m glad they did it with display and not parts that affect performance. That shows me these guys clearly understand true priorities for real riders, not tourists.
I can absolutely stretch it past 20 miles. Sometimes due to traffic or other conditions, I have to drive at 40mph or less, which of course improves range. You can absolutely take it out to the park for a nice joyride; you don’t have to push it all the time in my opinion. It is an excellent commuter, I go shopping, appointments, anything local.
I also want to give my praise to their Customer Service team. Any questions or assistance I needed, they reply very fast on What’s App. For me personally it was adjusting throttle and installing dampener. They are very polite and courteous, yes, but I just feel like they genuinely wanted to help me. I’m 38 years old, so I can tell fake courtesy. Maxfun seems to have very passionate team behind their scooters, and this is something money cannot buy, if you know you know. It almost sounds crazy, like I’m used to expect these things by default, which makes Maxfun standout in current “fast money” mentality we live in nowadays. Mad respect to people behind this brand, bravo.
I’ll add one more thing, make sure to adjust your thumb throttle and brake handles properly, this is a MUST for your safety. Took me a moment to get used to thumb throttle, Varla had a trigger one. After some adjustments and more miles, it feels natural now. Speaking of safety, don’t be a fool, don’t skimp on personal safety. I’ve spent around $1000 on top for DOT approved enduro helmet, quality magnetic goggles, mirrors, safety vest, gloves, hard shell backpack. And always take care of your scooter, wash it regularly, check tires and bolts, keep it away from prolonged water exposure and it will serve you well.
Almost forgot to mention, you don’t need to install any app to ride this scooter, Maxfun won’t collect your personal data like Apollo, no subscriptions, no nonsense. This is HUGE for me personally. If you gonna collect my data, that scooter better be free.
Overall, it’s a scooter that feels premium without being ridiculous, powerful without being dangerous, and engineered instead of garage improvised. For everyday riding, short commutes, and just enjoying the road, it’s been one of the best purchases I’ve made.
After 800+ miles I’m here to say this scooter is absolutely worth the price, plenty of get up and go with the max10 max, the Magura breaks seem to be great with plenty of stopping power & quiet. I still have the stock PMT tires that have lots of life left in them & they have such good grip I was surprised forsure. Long rides are super comfy and the platform gives lots of space to switch up your stance when needed. I don’t really have a complaint to think of except my screen froze up one time after a long chill ride. Scooter was off but screen stayed on & only way to turn it off so I could power back up was to disconnect screen then replug in. Fired it up and haven’t had that happen since. Jason has also been on point with any questions and help so I know customer service has got my back!!!… now I’m trying to talk my wife into getting off mine & getting her one of these lol!!!!
Definitely an excellent scooter. Solid build, great brakes, ridiculously fast acceleration and the throttle control is top notch. My only complaint is the same as on the 10 pro which is the light is not great at all but that’s not a huge issue as most scooter headlights are bad. Overall this scooter is fantastic and an absolute blast of adrenaline to ride.
Just over 100 miles on her and she is sweet. Had a Segway Max G3 and I did like it but wanted more speed and range. I have a 20 mile round trip and with the Maxfun I can make it in mode 3 and going as fast as I want. Still have some juice left over. I was not able to make the trip on the Max G3 on one charge.
I was able to hit 59 on the scooter readout which is probably around 55-56 mph. Even going up my hills this baby will hit 45, no shortage of power. This scooter is solid at top end, never any wobbles or anything. Not sure i can name any cons for this scooter so far, seems perfect. I would like more top end sometimes, but I wouldn’t count that as a negative.
Extremely happy with this purchase…
A lot of scooter for the money. The only negative part was the lack of instructions on how to install the steering damper. I did figure it out but still, no YouTube videos on installation either.
